Google Pixel 2 Launch
For the Pixel 2 launch, Google demanded a statement. The vision: create an ephemeral space in Berlin that physically manifested the "smart" capabilities of the device. We built an environment where the future was felt.
Beyond the Spec Sheet
Hardware is easy to show. Intelligence is hard. The Pixel 2's core value lay in its AI—Google Lens, computational photography, and assistant features.
The Invisible Value
How do you exhibit software features that are inherently invisible?
The Core Challenge
We needed to translate abstract algorithms into a tangible, visceral experience. A standard showroom would have failed to capture the magic of the technology.
The Immersive Ecosystem
Working with Monomango and Waltz Binaire, I focused on the interactive layer: programming the connections between device and environment. Together we designed a "Sci-Fi" world where the phone was the key.
The Insight
The phone is a sensor. The environment should react to it.
Strategy
Create a responsive installation. Lighting, sound, and visuals were all part of a narrative that the Pixel 2 unlocked. The space itself became the demo.
Digital-Physical Fusion
Atmospheric Design
The team created stark, futuristic lighting and projection mapping. The space felt like a set from a high-budget sci-fi film.
Interactive Narrative
I programmed the interactive layer that made the installation a journey. Visitors used the Pixel 2 to "scan" and interact with the environment, revealing the device's capabilities naturally through play and exploration.
Seamless Integration
I ensured the technology running the room stayed hidden. The connection between the user, the phone, and the space felt magical rather than mechanical.
A Brand Statement
The event transcended a traditional product launch. It positioned the Pixel 2 as a piece of the future.
Immersive Engagement
Visitors experienced the phone's worldview.
Viral Visuals
The striking aesthetic of the installation generated organic social sharing. It extended the reach of the launch beyond Berlin.
Tangible AI
The experience successfully translated the abstract concept of "Google AI" into a physical reality. People could understand and enjoy it.
